I'm in need of specialized book/novel authoring software. I have a couple models from which functionality can be based; however, I am looking for a solution with specific functionality in mind. First off, I prefer to use MS Word for the actual word processing part of this, but I want it embedded into an application that has extra functionality specific to managing chapters, notes, characters etc. The reason I want to embed MS word is for it's dictionary, spell checking, etc. functionality. I hate the way it looks and feels, and I'm not at all impressed with all the extra functionality. I want a piece of software that will do only what I want it to, without the extra bells and whistles. It's important for me to be able to manage the chapters as in the example provided. I would also like to be able to manage characters, plot points, etc. All of these features would need to be stored in XML formatted documents - this is very important. I would also consider accepting a slimmed down and imporved version of one or the other of these applications (again, MS word must be the main pord processor).
I would like to have a compiled and tested exe, as well as a copy of the source code, fully comented and documented. Application must make use of WinXP styles. I will provide any graphics necessary to complete this project. I will provide a detailed break down on specifications for the interested bidder, as I have very specific organizational needs.
Windows XP (with support for XP styles). Application must be built in C# or C++. I will consider other programming languages if you can provide a strong case for it.
