Writing a computer program to interpret data on serial port com1 or com2 and act as iterface between the data loging system and the user. using C++ the hardware philips microcontrller, max154 A/D converter and RS232. When the program is running the choice of service offered to the user is presented in a menu driven format. ·The user can request the number of samples and the intervals at which they are taken If no sample is returned a 'time-out' is initiated and the process halts. The user can break the process from the keyboard if necessary. .Data can be displayed on the screen in the form of separate graphs (with the axis labelled) for each of the channels selected. ·Maximum minimum and average values are calculated and displayed on screen in a tabular form. ·Data is stored both to a 'scratch pad' memory on the PC for ease of access and also to disk (either hard or floppy) for a permanent record. ·Data that has already been collected and stored can be read from disk back into the 'scratch pad~ memory for viewing and analysis. ·Data is stored to disk in ASCII format date, time and channel stamped by the program for reference and ease of reading.
