We need a small IIS log frequency analysis tool.
The tool can be a Python-script or a small compilable .exe. Instructions on how to configure and use some free tool to obtain the same result is also an acceptable solution.
If it is an .exe, it should be written in C++ or C# and be delivered as a compilable solution in Visual Studio 2003.
It should take an IIS generated log-file, find all unique “words?? and produce a list of the number of times each “word?? appears in the log file.
The list should be plain text sent to the console and should be sorted by frequency - most frequent first.
To define “word??:
The file consists of “separators?? and “words??.
Separators are: newline, cr, tab, space, ‘,’, ‘??’
"Words" are what is found between "separators"
It should be possible to configure separators (by directly editing the python script or by having some suitable input ??" command line or file ??" for the executable).
The tool should be able to handle an input-file on the same format as the one provided as an example, but of a size up to 1-2 GB.
Upon project start, a log file consisting of 50.000 lines of log-entries will be provided for testing purposes.
