improve zlib compression rate

We use zlib to compress the contents of a PDF file -both text and image data. In PDF, the codec is called Deflate. The compression ratio of zlib is lower than Adobe generated PDF. We would like to match or exceed the Adobe ratios. We believe that the difference is because Adobe's Deflate codec emits blocks more frequently getting better compression than zlib would with its default flushing strategy. We are seeking a person experienced with compression algorithms to analyze the compressed streams of our product and others, determine the differences and implement changes to zlib to improve the compression ratios. We will provide sample data sets.

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
