The program interfaces between communication ports and a database file. As it stands now, it works and is installed and running live on customer sites. There is still more to be done to extend the capabilities of the program, but the original programmer is no longer available to continue the work. The unit of work to be done immediately is to allow the TCP communications from this program to be done in plain ASCII text. Currently the program applies an extra protocol layer to my text strings when sending them through TCP. An option to bypass this layer must be added, and then the program recompiled. This is the urgent part. After this project, there are a series of modifications and extensions I want done. It is likely that I will accept multiple bids on this project, pay each coder, and continue on with the coder who seems will produce the most reliable end result. Full details of the program including a detailed specification, the full source, and the program exe are contained in the uploaded zip files. The specification includes a "Protocol" setting which is not currently in the existing program. This is the option that you must add, In summary: The program works. It does TCP comms, but adds extra bytes to my text. I need these extra bytes to be suppressed. Questions welcome.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Information on libraries used and instructions on how I recompile the program.
