I would like a simple program that will extend Windows/MSN Messenger's Voice Conference ability from PC-to-PC, into a simple Pc-to-Phone and Phone-to-PC solution. The voice connection between the phone and MSN messenger will be achieved through stereo cables connecting Voice/Fax modem to the soundblaster (see picture).
The idea is that even when I am away on trips I can use the home computer to make and receive calls through Windows Messenger's VoIP on my “traveling computer??.
**The system basics:**
(*) Home computer connected to high speed internet through cable or ADSL
(*) Simple Voice / fax modem connected to local telephone line
(*) Sound blaster
(*) MSN messenger
(*) Stereo cables connecting the “mic in?? jack of the modem to “line out?? of the soundblaster and “speakers?? jack of the modem to “line in?? of the soundblaster by that transforming analog sound to digital format the computer can use.
(*) MSN accounts: “home buddy?? ??" MSN account open on my home computer and “remote buddy?? ??" MSN account I use.
The program will run in the background on the “home computer??
Whenever there is an incoming call, the program will open Windows Messenger on the “home computer??, select a pre-defined “remote buddy??, and press Alt-Q (request for Voice conference with that buddy). If the buddy (working on the “traveling computer??) agrees to accept the call, the Modem will “pick up?? to receive the call (by that allowing the voice to travel from the phone line to the soundblaster to the remote user). When the call is over writing “hang up?? to the “home buddy?? will command the program to hang up the modem.
Whenever the “traveling computer?? user wants to make a call he would write to the “home buddy?? ??" “dial xxxxxxxxx?? and the program will send an Alt+Q request (request for Voice conference with that contact) and dial the requested number. Again writing “hang up?? will command the program to hang up the phone. The program will agree to make the call ONLY if the buddy requesting it is on the “home buddy?? buddy list (if not anyone could make a call on my expense ;)
I don't care in what language the program will be written it can even be in mIRC script :)
