This project is fairly straight forward.
The programmer has to have knowledge of a couple different technologies for multimedia, as well as a fairly good knowledge of music programs like ACID, Cakewalk Sonar or any other audio based recording software.
The application will do something very simple. It will read the contents of a CD-ROM which contains audio sound clips in ACID, MP3 and WAV format. The application must be able to organize the information and display the information to the user in a manner in which they can understand. More specifically, the information presented should at least show the loop name, beats per minute, cd-rom name etc. The information about the loop should come directly from the file header (ACID or Wav format) and from the filename itself. The developer should have a good working knowledge of how to read header information from file formats like WAV or ACID.
The user should be able to "audition" or play any loop and have that loop be available to "drag" and "drop" to another application.
The application will be able to "cache" or save the CD-ROM information for future recall and store it locally in a database which can be searched and data mined by the user.
The user should be able to keep a "catalog" of loops and the catalog should be able to be viewed, edited and presented to the user. The application should know what CD-ROM to look on for the loop.
I would like this application to be written in C++ using wxWindows and various other cross-platform technologies (Please no DirectX), however, I'll also accept a Python because of its ability to run accross other platforms.
I have an example application to view and undertand where to start, this application is the 1.0 version of the product. The product that will be developed is the 2.0 version. This will help understand what I'm trying to accomplish.

3) Exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site).
The main target platform is Windows XP/2000/98.
I would also like to have the application be portable to the Macintosh, but this depends on the technology choice (see above).
Python, wxPython or C++ and wxWindows is acceptable.
