I am working on a basic program that uses a richtextbox, using VB6. I want the richtextbox to highlight keywords, much the same way that any IDE does. I want the keywords to be defined in a seperate file, like maybe a text file. Allow multiple colors to be used for different categories, for instance, I will have 4 categories of words that will be highlighted, catagory one words will turn blue, category two will turn green...etc... The highlighting should be flicker free and should be done dynamically, meaning, as the word is typed, it turns the proper color. The user should not have to press a button to do the highlighting. The richtextbox should also highlight words when pasting text into it. This should work exactly like visual studio does as far as highlighting keywords. You can develop it anyway you wish, and in any language, as long as i can incorporate it into my VB6 program.
