Sentinel is a windows based program that runs as a service, at a designated time daily compresses pre-selected files/folders (likely a mix of both) and uploads a compressed and password protected file of the data to an FTP account.
Both the ftp account information and password for the compressed file are specified by the client. The FTP address is determined by their username. Once a backup has been uploaded properly they are notified by email at an address they specify in the software. They also have an option to keep the compressed file locally on their computer.
Finally the user has the option to specify individual backups for each day of the week that are written over weekly or a backup that is overwritten daily.
Our present version was written in VB and doesn't work well under W2K3. The final product must be stable and reliable.
