Hi, We need a winsock replacement to be used in VB6 programs. The main enhencement would be the possibility to serialize/unserialize an object. More detailed... The object will be scanned and serialised and send over a winsock connection. The receiver will unserialize the data back into a given object. Please refer back to the enclosed document about the format (ref. the protocol ) that needs to be used. We're open to any other protocol suggestion ( e.g. XML) but the protocol needs to be fast and bandwidth economical . Anyway, we need 100% knowledge of the used protocol as a next phase of this project will to port this library to .NET ( out of scope of this project ) Keep in mind, that we must be able to send the data over TCP or UDP diagrams. That's why the protocol needs some basic checking mechanisms to be built in. ( refer back to the protocol included in the document ) Overall usage of the library On client : [url removed, login to view]( object ) On Server : 2 possibilities are accepted : 1) An event is triggered when an object is received. The object will be as a parameter in the event. 2) An event is triggered containing the type of object received. Based on this a method is called [url removed, login to view](object) The same library will be used for client and server. The server needs to have the possibility to accept x connections. The library can be written in either vb6 or in C. A reference to the tblinf32 library is allowed. Positive points are attributed to persons who are able to write the same component for .NET and .NET Compact Framework in a next stage. Regards, Wim Dextrosoft.
