Audacity is an Open Source GPL audio recorder. ([url removed, login to view]) It is desired to add several recording features to the package, both on Linux and Windows. These include: 1) Rolling punch-in/punch-out on records 2) Channel level meters for input and output 3) A timer function for recording and playing 4) File information for the CartChunk standard All software will be GPL and assigned to the Audacity project, though obviously the author can both continue to use and modify it according to the GPL. Bids are accepted for individual parts or the entire package. Open to discuss any issues on implementations.
Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 1) Rolling punch-in/punch-out allows multiple tracks to be selected for record, so that during playback, the record button can be hit and recording on those tracks will begin, and when hit again, recording will stop (though playing will continue). 2) Channel level meters simply provide input and output level meters. These can be modelled on the meters at [url removed, login to view], though should be vertical and detachable. 3) A timer function to allow timed recording and playback. Timer should allow start and end times (with the possibility of leaving the end time blank for open-ended recording). Timing should count up and down (minutes/seconds recorded, and time left to record). 4) The ability for Audacity to read and write CartChunk information for WAV files, as specified at [url removed, login to view]:8080. WAV packaging must allow inclusion of MPEG Layer 2 and Layer 3 audio with CartChunk information.
Audacity enhancements need to run on Windows XP and Linux.
