Need an Active-X control that will be running from Internet Explorer. The control will need to download compressed files from a URL and uncompress them to a folder that the user can specify. The user should only need to specify the folder that it uncompresses to once, any future file will automatically uncompress itself in the folder the user picked. Any compression method can be used as long as it has quality compression (.zip, .rar etc). Also the control should be able to execute .exe files. It should do these actions after the user interacts with the website for example presses a link or button on the webpage.
Example: The control downloads file game1.zip. It asks the user were it wants the files to be installed, user picks c:\games\ . the program uncompresses the file to c:\games\game1\. It should remember the location of the exe in the game1 folder so it can execute it later. To make it easier all exe files will have a constant name “[url removed, login to view]? so “c:\games\game1\[url removed, login to view]? in this example, but the zip files will have different names from the ones given. Later on the control downloads [url removed, login to view], this time it will automatically unzip to c:\games\game2\. So it should use the name of the compressed file to create the folder.
The user will click a link or button which will send a message to the Active-X control to execute one of the games, the active-x control will also need to pass information on to the executable threw the program parameter. Just use a placeholder for the information so use “test?? or any random string.
