Browser-based word processor Looking to develop a simple browser-based word processor that will allow me to write text, save that text on the server where the word processor resides, call that same document up later to edit and then save again. The code must contain everything needed to accomplish those tasks. The file manager or ftp should be in the browser when it is called up and saving should be simple one button saving after the first save (and naming). Conceptually, it is very similar to a wysiwyg text editor for creating websites, except this text editor will save to a private location or database rather than publishing on the Net. The code needs to be as simple as possible, ideally something that can just be saved on a server as an HTML document. It needs to be able to work on any computer (using Explorer, Netscape or other browsers). I am thinking it is something that can be written in HTML or HTML and Java. (I am not a programmer myself, so please excuse any and all misuse of programming/coding terms). I would like it simple enough so I can change the "look" myself using Composer-that is, just cut and past the code into Composer, play with the color, proportions and buttons and then save it myself back on my server. I would like it to be "light", with minimal graphics and no "heavy" buttons. It needs only the most basic features: bold, italic, underline, center, left, right, text size (point sizes rather than HTML sizes) and fonts. The words need to wrap and page breaks would be nice. When the text is retrieved it should return the same as when it was saved. The interface with the server (I am assuming some sort of built in FTP script) should be a simple filing system. One last point: I would like this system to be secure. I would like the text encoded before sending, sent on a secure line and password protected at the server. That is, the documents saved needs to be safe in sending and safe on the server. The winning bidder needs to write the code and be available to walk me through implementation; that is, making sure that I can put in on my server and use it. Communication can be done by email and this is not a very time sensitive project. I hope that's enough information.
