I have attached a couple prototype screens. These screens represent the design I want. You will be expected to style the site after these screens.
This will be a craigslist like community style website for listing companies, ads, coupons, events, discounts and help wanted.
This will be a PHP, MySQL system.
I have attached 2 prototype screens. These screens represent the design I need. You will be expected to style the site like these screen. The second screen “[url removed, login to view] is actually a company detail screen, not a “Coupon?? screen and should be named companydetail.html. However, companies may optionally include coupons with their company detail information which is why a coupon is displayed in this screen.
At the top of the home page Are 5 links ('Post Types'). Post Types include Coupons, Discounts, Ads, Help Wanted and Events. Clicking one of these links will display a list of user posts filtered by the currently selected city (left side of home page - City Bar). Any person can create posts for each of these Post Types. The process for entering a post will similar to creating a CraigsList Post, including email validation required to activate the post. When a user clicks the Post button found on the home page, they navigate to a Post Type screen, displaying the 5 Post Types mentioned above. Selecting one will display the Add Post screen. From there you will emulate the CraigsList post process for creating a post. A post can have a single picture uploaded to display with the post. In the future the ability for multiple pictures will be added.
Along the left side of the home page is the City Bar, containing a list of all cities entered by an Admin user. When a user clicks a city, Companies displayed in the center of the home page are filtered by the selected city and the city name is displayed as shown in the attached example pages. Only categories in which companies have been associated will display. Empty categories will not display. These categories / companies will display statically (do not expand or contract category, always display the companies under the category). When a city is selected, a cookie will be created (overwrite existing cookies) for that city so the user will be presented with the last selected city the next time they open the website.
In the center of the home page is a list of categories. Under each category will be displayed companies associated with that category. To create a company, a user registers for an Account. The account's email is validated before the account is activated. Login requires a User ID & PW. The UserID will be an email address. Both the UserID and PW must be entered twice when registering, with the second matching the first. Only Companies will need to register for an Account. Posts can be created by anyone without an account. A company can enter all their information, company website and necessary data to display a coupon. In this first version, the coupon will be formatted exactly the same for all companies, so only data fields are needed today to create a coupon. Users that display a company's detail will need the ability to print a company's coupon. They will also need the ability to click a Map button to display either MapQuest or a Google Map of the location. Three buttons (Miscategorized, Prohibited, Spam) will display above each post and above each company detail record. Clicking on any of these buttons will cause an email to be sent to the Admin user.
Admin users will be designated by an Admin flag on the User table. The flag will be set manually in MySQL
Admin user capabilities:
- Add, Edit, Delete Cities
- Add, Edit, Delete Categories
- Activate, Deactivate Posts
- Activate, Deactivate Companies
Search field - A freeform search field and search button will be displayed on the home page. Clicking Search will result in a text search of both posts and companies, displaying a single list of found posts and companies that match. This search result list will be links to the detail screens for their respective posts or companies.
Hide email option: When a post is created, a user will have the option to include their email address in the post, or to include a system generated email address that will automatically forward to their email address in a similar manner as CraigsList. This option is only available for posts and not for companies.
