Goal: Build a data analysis database system that combines data from various sources Experience with building reporting tools required
The system is supposed to “automatically?? import data from several sources, store it in a database and be able to overlay and output in report format that could be imported into Excel and printed out.
Web-based or Local stand-alone PC system will be considered
Part of the system analysis will be processing key strokes. For example, the system will receive a file that will have a time stamp and arrow up, arrow left, arrow down key marks of a user scrolling through a menu. The system will be tasked to determine for how long user stayed on each menu item, which menu items are most popular, average session time, etc
The system must keep track (history) of data inputs and have ability to roll back in case there is data corruption or contamination.
Some data is retrieved from FTP ??" automatic FTP interface is preferred but not requited
Some data needs to be retrieved online from public sources
The DB will be fed from 6 or 7 sources. Some will be 40-60Kb txt files for each day and others minimal. Each source will have its own, but consistent format including CVS, TXT, XLS, XML.
System must support manual correction and data editing if needed
Must have a pleasant design
The system is expected to produce 5-10 reports. If web-based, must have multi-user access system.
All file formats and data Samples will be provided. Due to confidentiality of data, its owners, and the project, I am not able to release the exact files/formats until the bidder is selected.
