We need a FLEX coder/designer to modify the Displayshelf component to work according to our own needs. For those who dont know, DisplayShelf is an open-source/freely available flex/flash version of the popular apple "coverflow" system. You can read about it and get the source at the link below. [url removed, login to view] We require this changed to do the following : a) Pull its data dynamically from an xml file (which we generate in php) b) Display some "meta" information about each item according to xml data below the i.e. a line of title text appears beneath each image as its selected c) Add "drill down" functionality to allow the selected item to be clicked again (whilst selected and in front position) which spins the item around to show a plain color object back, where a scrolling text box gives a textual overview of the item (perhaps with a zoom to give more text space). This information will be taken from the XML obviously. c2) Preferably c) should be configurable per item based from the xml file attributes. i.e. showdesc="false" etc d) Images MUST be pulled in at runtime based on the image locations specified in the xml file rather than be embedded at compile time(really important) A proper spec will be delivered on agreement with sample xml data and images, example mock screenshots of our intentions and msn/skype availablity to discuss or clarify any other issues. Also of note is that this project is being outsourced as we have no FLEX experience inhouse, only flash. We are however keen to pursue Flex inhouse, so we would appreciate good commenting to distinguish your work and aid us in understanding what is happening for future updates and learning.
