As part of a business study I have made an Excel file/template designed to provide specific information to a particular sector of the service industry. The workbook consists of a workbook of six sheets. At present , each sheet addresses a particular set of information: there are cells designed to take the USER’ inputs and with mathematical formulas other cells give the information required. All sheets are linked together so that some data is shared between them. The objective is to use EXCEL VBA programming in order to make this file/template look professional, function professionally and prevent some of the data/formulas contained being disclosed to the USER. This template has been made on Excel 97 and must able to run trouble free on all versions of Excel: Excel 95, Excel 97, Excel 2000 and Excel 2002. The USER must have one of the mentioned version of Excel already installed in order to use my template. At this stage I would like to know if it is possible for a VBA programmer to make a template with the requirement outlined below into which I can then copy my file with the necessary data and templates. I do not wish to disclose all of the data contained in my project. 1) I would like to permanently hide all the formulas used for processing the data. At the moment I am formatting the sheet ( hide formula bar etc) to make the data invisible but this process can too easily be reversed. 2) I would like to customise the worksheet so that the only command in the taskbar will be: FILE: OPEN, SAVE, SAVE AS, PRINT PREVIEW, PAGE SETUP, PRINT AREA, PRINT. 3) I would like all the 6 sheets (final number of sheet to be determined) within the workbook to be accessed only by a command button located in the main page. Each sheet to carry the same number of command buttons so that is possible to move between sheets automatically. The sheets must be invisible at all times when not in use, the only sheet to appear is the one called with the command button. 4) My workbook already has most the data required to function. However I will need to collect the User inputs with one or more InputBoxes. (details will be supplied before programming starts subject to NDA) 5) One aspect of this file is to give particular information on staff employed. As I do not know how many employees the USER may employ, I will require the USER to type this information in a specific ImputBox. A specific template with formulas and format which I have customised for one employee will need to appear automatically for the number of employees the USER specifies. The USER may also need to divide the employees in group sectors, therefore an additional ImputBox is required were the number of sectors is specified and the operation above repeated automatically for each of the sectors.(details will be supplied before programming starts, subject to NDA) 6) Normally when one of these files is started one gets a window informing the user that macros are contained in the file and asks whether the contained macros should be enabled or not and the risk that one runs. What can be done to avoid this procedure while at the same time ensuring that no viruses are hidden within the file ? End of project
