CRE Web database application DESIGN DOCUMENT**
The application will be written in ASP with SQL read/write commands to a SQL Server 2000 database. User authentication will be supplied by a database table, although in the current iteration of the application, *no* user authentication is required. The web server is IIS 6.0, and the operating system is Windows 2003. This is a lightweight application that will serve a maximum of 40 users with an average of 4 concurrent connections.
A database design has been created, and the ER diagram is in **appendix A** of this document. There is a database for development, and the selected programmers will have access to it.
The application will have one main web page with 7 sections on the page. Accessing each section will produce a popup window with the information in the section. Each section may consist of a fixed set of records or a scrollable window with a variable set
of records from a given database table. All sections on the page are related to one client record. A graphical view of the main page is in **appendix B**. The navigation controls are on the bottom of the page.
