I have a news website ([url removed, login to view]) where I gather aviation news via RSS feeds and then move them into the website. Some feeds/articles, when published in the website, have the link to the original article appear as just a string of text and not a clickable link. I've tried MySQL solutions, all of which have failed (added
, added , added a space). The strange thing is that when the article is opened in the Joomla HTML editor and then saved without doing anything else to it, all is fine. My feeling (I know absolutely nothing about how this stuff works!) is that something is keeping Joomla/PHP from recognizing that the link is an HTML string and not just text. The goal with this project is to provide me a way of fixing these feeds by an entry into the MySQL database that can be inserted into ALL articles, whether or not they have this issue, and then all articles will display properly in the Joomla website. If a MySQL solution is not possible, then a method of accomplishing the same thing globally through Joomla must be provided. This can be something like a button that can be added to the "back end" that would make the required changes - again globally - so articles would display properly. My long-term goal with the website is to automate all news gathering functions. Although this is not part of this bid/project, your solution should fit with that intention.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
My website ([url removed, login to view]) is hosted on a Linux server. The website runs Joomla! [url removed, login to view], and the latest stable versions of PHP and MySQL.
