Have SharePoint 2007 server, need to make InfoPath work. Small company needs web-based forms that "know where to go next" for telephone service calls. Paper is killing us. I know Sql Server but not SP or InfoPath. Need either guidance or direct help making this work.
Need help to build form(s), implement database and SharePoint pages, and set-up path ways. Need someone with SharePoint (Office Server) and InfoPath experience!
Picture this: A clerk takes a phone call and brings up a blank form. He/she enters the information on the form and submits it. The form "knows" to go to one or more technicians - they are alerted by email or whatever means. They access the form and fill-in the status of the repair or issue, what is done, what parts are used, etc. They can put the form back for later access or submit it to move on down the line. The form then goes to billing so that the customer is invoiced. The forms remain on the server for later reference and reports can be generated, and boss can checkl status of things and see what work is in progress. I have been told that InfoPath and Office Server can do all this, but I can't find out HOW to accomplish it. Need someone with experience in this stuff to do it or guide us.
