Computers Unlimited has its internal ERP systems operating on Oracle database technology with a "front end " application written using a 4GL called Omnis 7 (previously owned by Blyth Software, now owned and maintained by Raining Data). Omnis have upgraded their application from Omnis 7 to Omnis Studio, a complete re-build. They offer "converter" tools, but these are far from perfect. Computers Unlimited wishes to acquire the services of a programmer who is fully conversant with Omnis 7 technology and has converted applications from Omnis 7 to Omnis Studio, preferably with experience of Omnis applications linked to Oracle Databases. There is no re-coding required other than coding necessary between the old and the new in order to make it function under the new environment. Rent A Coder requirements notice: As originally posted, this bid request does not have complete details. Should a dispute arise and this project go into arbitration "as is", the contract's vagueness might cause it to be interpreted against you, even though you were acting in good-faith. So for your protection, if you are interested in this project, please work-out and document the requirements onsite.
We will provide a list of Omnis Libraries and the objects within that we require converted. Successful conversion would be that these objects both look and function to the identical specification of the original object prior to conversion. At this stage we need to find individuals interested, once we have a short list we will define the number of objects etc so they can price these & quote.
Our application runs on Mac OS (Classic mode) and Windows XP. The old version Omnis 7 does not run on OSX, the new version Omnis Studio will run on OSX and XP.
