Need a progress bar or page loader graphic that keeps the user informed as to the status of a page load in .NET 2.0/Csharp.?
I am using the .aspx code behind model and need this to work on all browser types.? I tried a solution a while back using the [login to view URL] file to check the status of the page load, but ended up messing things up with my project.?
I have been playing with Javascript and modeless popups.? The? showModelessDialog? function works in IE but not in Firefox.? And i have tried other methods for using combinations of [login to view URL]() etc.. but nothing that shuts down after the page loads....frustrating!?
My idea is to just put up a small window that tells the user to hang on and then have it dissapear when the page finally loads.? I think this is the correct direction...but would be willing to accept any other ideas.?
Need someone with experience in JavaScript, and .NET/Csharp and the page flow model in ASP.NET 2.0.?
thanks

Hi. I think my needs are pretty simple on this. AFter all validation is performed, if the user is ok to 'post' then i will simpley call a javascript, modeless dialog that says "Please Wait"--modeless means that it is ontop of all other windows, and in IE it goes away after the page that is processing is complete!! It's PERFECT, SIMPLE EASY to implement. . But it does not work in Mozilla based browsers (ff, chrome etc..). I am looking for a simple javascript solutoin such as this (THAT WORKS accross the different browsers). But, I am certainly open to any new suggestions. Here is my javascript code that I am trying to use right now: if everything is ok then call modelesswin("[login to view URL]",50,50) end return modelesswin(url,mwidth,mheight) { if (document.all&&[login to view URL]) //if ie5 eval('[login to view URL](url,"","help:0;resizable:1;dialogWidth:'+mwidth+'px;dialogHeight:'+mheight+'px")') else eval('[login to view URL] url,"","width='+mwidth+'px,height='+mheight+'px,resizable=1,scrollbars=1")') }

Hi, Ok...Can all of my bidders point me to a link that has what you think you are going to code for me? Basically it is a simple progress bar or loader graphic that waits on a server program to finish; it tells the user to hang on while his/her page is processing, then redirects them to the results. thanks...my idea was a simple modeless diaglog box but it doesn't work in non ie browsers. If AJAX is it, well then I suppose I'll have to accept that, but I really don't want to bite that off for what I think is a simple solution.

For example, on this site: [login to view URL] (haha) they have a little hourglass graphic that shows before your results are displayed. That would be fine for my needs.
