This is a pretty cut and dry script I need made to make my life easier at the office.
Basically, it checks the symantec, and microsoft website for updates. It needs to check the symantec site for their norton antivirus intelligent updater, and it will look on microsoft for any critical security updates for XP.
When you type [url removed, login to view]
it will look for the [url removed, login to view] file which will contain a few items...
It needs to contain a list of all the downloaded updates for XP and the antivirus software. It also will contain a refresh to page variable, and a title variable.
Once I go to [url removed, login to view] for example, it will check the microsoft and symantec websites for updates and compare the versions out with what I have, which will be stored in the dat file. If there is a new windows update or nav update, it will prompt me to download the updates or skip it until later. If I do skip, it will continue on to the refresh to page variable, and load whatever site that is. If I choose to download the update, it will link directly to it so all I have to do is click download, then it will start the download to my computer, and add the file to the .dat file as being downloaded.
It will need to list multiple downloads if they are available that I need. Seperately of course, like in a list format. Also, as it checks if there are available updates, it should say something like CHECKING FOR UPDATES. Finally, if there are no updates for either, it will just go to the refresh to page. The title variable will be used later for me to add a title for the different offices I will check from.
I dont need you to make any graphics or do any html at all except for the basic html needed to tie this system together. I can handle the designing aspect.
If it is run for the first time without any downloaded files being listed in the .dat file, it will list all files that need to be downloaded.
If you complete this as described, I will give you a perfect score, and will go to you in the future for bigger and better projects.
