I need to have a program that prints a prescription out so I do not have to write it down every time. Also after script is written I need a permanent record of the transaction. I write really only a handful of medications while there are programs availble to purchase they require a monthly fee + purchase of their printer etc. However the commercial program that I have found would meet most of my needs but it has too many Bells and whistles that I do not need. The commercial program would be better for a doctor of internal medicine that treats a number of different diseases and would need to know about drug interactions. I am a orthopedic surgeon and have different needs. I write narcotics and my hand writing is terrible, so I think a printed script is in everyone best interest. To look at a commercial available program check out "Surescripts" which I can purcahase through dawsytems.com.
