I am using MS Access. I need a code to do a specific limited function. I have form let us call it "Frm_ProgressNote" this form has a numeric field called "ContactID", the form also has a memo field called "MemoTxt" which would have some writing in it. what I need is a button on this form that will shift the focus to another application. the application name is "ViewPACS". Note that the other appliaction "ViewPACS" is already open and is already displaying a customer's record that is not the same customer that is open in the MS Access form. After I shift the focus to the "ViewPACS" I would like to send the following keys: Escape Escape Left arrow Enter. then I would like to paste the "contactID" Field from the MS Access form. in the ViewPACS, the cursor would already be in the right place to receive the paste. then send keys: Enter, Enter, F3.
then I would like to return the focus back to Access, to the same form I started from, then send the cursor to the "MemoTxt" field to rest at the end of whatever paragraph that is there, ready for me to type. that is it.
I use dual VGA card, so I 2 monitors at the same time one is showing the MS access application and the other is showing the "ViewPacks". this way I can type into the MS access application while looking up data from the correct record in the View Packs application. the difficulty I foresee is to be able to send the focus to the "ViewPacks" that is already open. This is because, the name of the application in the top blue window title bar, changes according to which record is open, so if Joe smith record is open, it would say: ViewPacks Jome Smith. Hope one of you clever people know a fucntion or code to get over this. thank you.
