Website/php/MySQL Conversion/Implementation Situation: Our small non profit sports association has an existing simple 5-6 page Frontpage based website ([url removed, login to view]) plus some custom written php modules with an access database backend. A mockup is temporarily available at [url removed, login to view]) I will provide editing access to interested bidders. These scripts are not fully integrated at this time, and are pretty messy and disorganized internally. They sort of work as a proof of concept but need some cleanup work to get them ready for public consumption. Our other problem is that we want to switch our hosting service to Dreamhost which provides php/MySQL database functionality but does not support php/Access so some modifications are needed. Please review Dreamhost fetures/specifications so that you are aware of what tools you can use (I cannot intelligently answer questions on Dreamhost's technical capabilities.
Dynamic Webpage Requirements: Database is a flat file db of a number of sports teams with typical contact and team related information. Currently a second linked table provides username/passwords for each record/team. Key requirement is that each record (team) MUST to have a username/password associated with it that allows that record to be edited by that particular user. Part 1 Provide an overall administration/login page that will allow an Administrator to Add/Delete/Modify basic team information such as name, team_username, team_password, administrator defined fields. Provide a team administration/login page that will allow a Team_Administrator to modify/edit his team information as might be required. Provide a dynamic webpage that will report on the entire database with specific fields shown and group breaks at changes in a key field. Provide for the capability to resort the report page according to which column is selected (group breaks on key field, groups sorted on clicked column/field). Each team listing to be a hyperlink to a secondary page, team email contact (if shown) to be a hyperlink to email that person. Provide secondary dynamic pages that show team information when that particular team link is clicked. Provide standard web page design elements to match remainder of existing website (more or less, as long as the look is somewhat similar) and if not available through Frontpage navigation elements, provide typical page navigation elements as would be normally required (home, back, team page…) Populate database with current data from ex access db tables. Document procedure to add/delete a field to db structure and to appropriate editing page and output page. Document procedure to add/delete/change fields in Team report format . Document procedure to download db from Dreamhost/SQL, bulk export to a PC based db, import and reupload to DreamHost/SQL. PC based db would ideally be editable from Excel but anything, including 3rd party utilities (licensed separately) that you suggest that would allow for tabular, bulk editing. Install and configure website/database on temporary Dreamhost webserver for testing and debugging. Transfer website to final Dreamhost webserver upon completion. Part 2 (Optional/Provisional) Redesign website using current design tools using CSS to clean up structure and looks. Web pages must be easily editable using Frontpage/Dreamweaver or other readily available WYSIWYG HTML design suite. Attachments [url removed, login to view] file with current website, access db and php modules as written. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
