I'd like an app to manage my desktop Address Book (Mac OS X), which contains the usual emails, addresses, names etc; online within a web-app. The main idea is that the app allows people in the address book to edit and update **their own** details. -Clearly the app would need some sort of import facility to get my existing addresses in there (but I don't mind if you integrate an existing library for this) -How about using Plaxo as an intemediary for import / export purposes? Is that possible? -It would need to be relatively secure so that a) the emailing facility was not abused by spammers and b) unknown persons could not update entries which did not belong to them. It doesn't need to be a pretty web app. How it would work: a) Contact browses to [url removed, login to view] and logs in using the email address I already have registered for them in my Mac os x address book - a confirmation random code is then emailed to them and they can follow that link or enter the code to gain access. Once ownership of the email address is proven they can run amok in their *own entry*. b) The app could be instructed (via an administrators' control panel) to send individuals a fully formed, secure URL which would allow them immediate access to *their entry* in the web app to update their entry. Integration with Plaxo would be amazing because then avoids problems with importing / exporting from Mac OS X address book.

Web app, to be used on a Unix shared virtual server. Don't mind so long as it's modern and does the job - PHP?
