This should be a straightforward development for anyone conversant in Flash and ActionScript.
We are preparing a number of games and interactive demos for a large auditorium that has a keypad at every seat. The keypad has alphanumeric keys, so the user can input both letters and numbers, and a very basic LCD screen.
We people to write a simple message and send it for displaying on the screen. All messages are moderated, but that work is already done ??" all messages come to a central system where they are queued, and then either approved, edited or discarded.
All approved messages are placed in a text file moderated.txt.
What is required is a simple Flash ActionScript that continuously reads in the data from the file [url removed, login to view] and displays it in an interesting way on the screen. This needs to fit into a standard background template ??" there will be a separate background file.
I’ve enclosed a version that has been done already that we are not happy with, but it gives a sense of what we are looking for. We can provide the actionscripts if needed.
The program should read the file [url removed, login to view] continually, checking for new entries.
As new messages appear in this file, we want them displayed in a flashing text like way ??" the intent is to draw the eye to the screen so that people notice when new messages come in, and hence encourage more people to participate. We are very open to suggestions for how this could be done. At a minimum, we want each letter to appear one after the other, as each line is completed, for the text to scroll smoothly up (not line by line in the file enclosed), and for each message to follow the other (not one page at a time, as in the enclosed file).
The overall screen size is 800 x 600, but only 400 x 400 is available, though this area needs to be adjustable to suit other backgrounds we’d like to add at a later stage.
Enclosed is a copy of [url removed, login to view], and the Flash file we need to replace urgently.
We will definitely require all source code and executables.
As outlined above, we also have a requirement for quite a number of other games and demos.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
