Update website and flash banner

I am a online teacher and I have purchased a website and wish the coder to update it. The website I have purchased is [login to view URL] I require the following updates. Make the website look more academic Give it a more modern feel. I do have a good understanding of both flash and dreamweaver so.. what I am looking for is somebody who has good ideas rather than somebody who needs to be told exactly what to do. Please provide a mock up of how you may change the website. I hope to have a long working relationship with the coder I chose.. as I have a number of other projects I may offer to him/her if I am happy with the outcome of this small project.
