I built & run a small local pool website in the UK for my mate Geoff. I designed a spreadsheet in excel 2003 which no longer runs properly in excel 2007. The address is www.leypool.co.uk. The way the sheet works is that when the results cards come in each week I put 'W' or 'L' in the Player Stats tab and click a macro which sorts all the tables out and team pecking orders etc. The 4 spreadsheets (1 per division) were 'saved as' an htm webpage file and I'd right-click/edit to update them each week b4 posting them online.
Well, with a small budget $350 I wonder if a dynamic (poss in php/sql I don't know) online stats/fixtures system can be put together which doesn't involve excel where I can log in as an administrator to enter player results by clicking their names and who won etc with results cards/league tables and team/player stats available to visitors by navigating the site and clicking their respective links, as well as chatting to other players on their team forum once they've registered.
There are 10 teams per division, which may become 12 next season.
A more detailed description would require verbal communication for it to progress to a satisfactory conclusion.
Perhaps a much smaller cross between the look of this site and the feel of MafiaDeath(?), but local pool!
A fun project don't you think?
