We need a software routine written in C/C++ that converts halftoned (AM screening patterns) 1-bit image data to downsampled 8-bit format, eg. 2400 DPI 1-bit to 300 DPI 8-bit.
The algorithm should be able to determine the original screening parameters, line frequency and angle, and prevent or at least reduce the visual artifacts of moire and sampling error.
We will provide sample files and an application framework for reading/writing image data in TIFF format.
