I. Phase 1
a. Work together to choose a Hosting site and register the domain
b. Create a unique simple, minimalist site Template with Banner, and artwork.
i. Home – business description, general information.
ii. Schedule with calendar
iii. Sign-up for driving lessons and can check the instructor’s detail page.
iv. About Us – instructor bios, clickable photos link to the detail page.
v. Contact – address, phone numbers, email.
vi. Register – forms for student enrollment (name, info, payment info, etc)
vii. Login – portal for students, administrators and instructors.
d. Portal Functionality
i. Payment system – students have the option to pay one-time for courses or pay in scheduled installments. Payment Reports. List the paid and non-paid students. Email payment due alerts to the users and administrator.
ii. Online Forum – registered students and instructors can communicate.
iii. Announcements – central area to portal where instructors can post information, driving tips, etc in a blog-like manner. The announcements also will send to the email list.
iv. Students organized by class (ex: class 03-2013) and categorized as dropped, enrolled, or graduated within each class
v. Instructor’s account – instructors can view and print enrolled student’s records, post information for his/classes; manage teaching material and other content.
II. Phase 2
a. Online-classroom implementation
i. Enrolled students can access the learning material.
ii. Lessons administered via uploaded videos or video conference.
iii. Students take practice quizzes for each lesson.
• Record scores for quizzes associated with each student and time taken to complete
iv. Track and monitor student time spent “in class”
• State-mandates 32 hours of instruction time total. We are currently using sixteen lessons 2-hours each.
• Record amount of time instruction students receive. Students can choose their own pace (minimum 16 days though), but ensure they do not cheat the system.
v. Parkway Driving School will provide actual lesson materials. However need to integrate into website.
III. Phase 3
a. Maintenance – developer will provide support for 3 months after Phase 2
i. Iron out bugs that may occur during normal usage
ii. Implement necessary new modules or capabilities – with extended contract.
iii. Ex: Install cameras into learning vehicles that stream to the website. Parents and friends can watch or share these videos.
iv. Increase online visibility/presence.
Considering work begins 1DEC2013:
Phase 1 complete no later than 4JAN2014
Phase 2 complete no later than 15FEB2014
Phase 3 complete upon completion of maintenance and support for 3 months
Parkway Driving School seeks to establish a lasting relationship that extends beyond Phase 3.
Developer will submit bi-weekly status reports enumerating work done, amount of time taken (template to be provided).
Maintain weekly communication via email, voice, or video chat in order to gauge feedback, progress, etc.
Parkway Driving School will respect Developer expertise and recommendations.
Developer will put forth sincere, professional effort to achieve mutual goals.
Parkway Driving School is responsible for website expenses and reserves the right to own all website code, content, accounts, and other pertinent intellectual property. We reserve the right to assess progress completion at each development phase and to choose to terminate business with Developer should extenuating circumstances allow.
