This bid is to develop a very simple, 1-screen iPhone application that I've nicknamed "Tone". It's very simple: the user sings (or hums) a tone into the iPhone microphone, and the application attempts to identify the note using the treble-clef musical key signature. Some details about how it should work: - display the closest possible match, including flat notes and sharp notes ... i.e., the user may be humming a correct A-sharp or B-flat. - if the note hummed is still a little flat or a little sharp (i.e., if it's not perfectly on a note), then show "(a little sharp!)" or "(a little flat!)" near the note. In other words, if it's "not quite B-flat, but not quite B" it might be "B (a little flat!)" - the note should change dynamically as I'm humming. However, it should not change more than once every 2 seconds (i.e., users must hum for a steady 2 seconds to get a note reading) - use iPhone's default buttons for "Start Listening" and "Stop Listening" - if the note is above an "A" in the middle of the staff, then use the down-pointing tail. If it is at "A" or lower, use an up-pointing tail. - if the note is an octave lower or higher, show "1 octave lower" or "1 octave higher" somewhere. If it's 2 octaves higher or lower, show "2 octaves higher" or "2 octaves lower" etc. Please code in Objective-C in a manner that is very likely to ensure acceptance into Apple's app store for the iPhone.
