I want an authentication server for social wifi. The proposed solution will be a development from the existing captive server "authpuppy".
There will be three actors in this project:
- Wifi router with standard DD-WRT: will be the hotspot client for the authpuppy server.
- Mobile device: will login into any wifi router
- Authpuppy server: server to authenticate devices through hotspots. This is the part to develop, the other two parts (wifi router and mobile will be standard, and only in case of the wifi router would need a configuration againts authpuppy server parameters
The users will connect to the wifi router, and in order to get access to the Internet, they will have to authenticate clicking on "like" on facebook. Each hotspot will have a different like page on facebook.
My customer has a restaurant.
We want to install an access point where his guests can login to surf the web.
But, prior to their access, they must like his facebook page or fill-in their email.
When the guest choose to login with facebook, he must like the restaurant's FB page and a post to his wall appears to say he's sitting in that restaurant now. (or whatever message)
On the second visit, or with another device the guest can login with facebook without liking the page again.
I will use routers with standar DD-WRT, so I don't need the daemon. I'd like to use authpuppy, but open to use also Coova.
