We are looking for a web developer that understands both CSS and Microsoft Expression Web. We would prefer to use the same developer for several years, so please bid only if you are interested in a long term arrangement. Our current goal is to convert our existing site from the current format to a new format. However, we have additional work that also must be completed.
The purpose of this project is to 1) identify a new developer than can work with CSS and Microsoft Expression Web and 2) begin conversion of our site to the new format. This first project is limited to 10 hours of work. **We understand that the entire conversion will take much longer than 10 hours.** In this first 10 hours we will be evaluation your coding abilities and speed. If you do well, then we will send you the remaining work.
Please do not bid without reading all the requirements.
Your work must be done in Microsoft Expression Web 4.0. If you do not have or do not know how to use Microsoft Expression Web 4.0, then please do not bid on this project. Bids that indicate that they will be "hand coded" or use "notepad" will be immediately deleted. Our corporate development platform is Expression Web. It is possible for a page to look good in CSS and render properly in IE, Chrome, etc. but to not look correct in Expression **Web. Therefore, we want to maintain both Expression Web compatibility and W3 CSS standards.**
Your work will be evaluated using the following criteria. If you do well, then we will immediately post another project for the rest of the work required to convert the site.
? Quality of work
? Speed of work
? Understanding of CSS and Expression
? Ability to follow instructions
These 10 hours are to be used in the following way?
**Step #1:** 2 hours - We will provide detailed instructions and the current site files. You review the instructions and the current site structure. Ensure that you understand how we are using the dwt template files and how this works in Expression. At the end of this period you ask any questions you need answered to start the work. Do not log more than 2 hours during this phase. At the end of step #1 you must do the following.
- Post all your question on vWorker that need to be clarified**.**
- **Do not proceed to Step #3 until such time as your receive an answer from us. Please note, if you log hours between Step #1 and Step #3 they will not be accepted.**
**Step #2** .5 hours - You read our response to our questions.
**Step #3** 7.5 - You start conversion of the site. Your first goal is to make the pages as complete as possible. Complete means that the**meta tags are complete, all links work, etc.**
In the past, we have had a problem with coders bidding on project and not having the required tools. In this case, you must use Microsoft Expression Web. Please note that you can use Expression Web in either "Design" (i.e. visual) or "Code" view. However, your pages must look correct in Design view when complete. If you bid on this project, you agree to use Expression Web. If you do not, then you agree in advance that you will not be paid for any work.
By bidding on this project you agree to complete Step #1 within 48 hours of bid acceptance. Additionally, you agree to complete Step #2 within 48 hours of our response from Step #2. Failure to meet these timelines will result in forfeit of all monies due.
In the past we will get many bids, most of which are "drive by bids". These are people who bid without reading all of the requirements. To prevent this, we require that you post the following in your bid "I have read and understand the require
ments and have Microsoft Expression Web 4.0".
