Design and structure of Trade skills ltd Web site Front end and back. The website will generate all new business therefore will be the life and soul of the business.
The nature of our business is brokering training courses and we have built a network of accredited training centres based all over the UK.
We require a website where we have a log in system and from the back end we can edit static templates to advertise these courses on the front end.
This document is designed to give an overview of the site and the challenges involved in creating the solution for the Trade Skills website. We are looking to build a new website on a completely new platform to give the organisation an added edge over competition and their customers a unique user experience. The aim is to make the site more accessible and usable and essentially make people stay on the site longer, make it more usable and easy to find information. This will mean designing the whole site with content led interface to make sure content from all areas of the website can be promoted to the right people. Users are able to find information easily and quickly. The key aim on the project is to get users to enter the site, search for their desired information, find it quickly, and direct them to the correct areas of interest, request information from the desired organisations and gain feedback from this. The site essentially is a directory based system which allows users to come onto the site, select a category or search for a training course which they are interested in doing. The system will then return to them a selection of courses which they can select and it will ask them location based information like town or postcode. The centres will then be displayed where the course is taking place and they can click on a book now button. This will then take them to a cart like and ecommerce store and be able to pay for the course via sage pay, or if Trade Skills wishes to firstly take a request for booking check that the place is available before charging the customer this can also be done, the system can be modified to cater for both areas.
The bookings will then be managed in the backend to approve, cancel, and decline bookings. Approving the booking will then release any payment to Trade Skills
On the back of the sale we will be able to manage the booking fully by sending out fully automated Joining instructions, invoices etc
A simple area for uploading course information, dates and time changes should exist – a proposition of having the course providers been able to log on and make modifications to their information should also exist.
Once a course template has been set up we will be able to add various dates and times from which ever course provider is running that particular course
In essence we are looking to strip away the system currently there start from scratch with a new full modernized design that Trade Skills will fully own ALL rights to including the CMS! Essentially the site is a directory / content based site which should have the capacity to make it easy for users/visitors to find information in a more structured way, make it interactive and allow for multimedia and document content. The system will be based on the latest word press technology
Customers will have the option to create accounts to store their personal details for ease of use on later visits and or log in using there existing social media accounts and adding there relevant contact details.
The site will contain search engine friendly URLS , fully control over all meta data on a per page/product level and use of the Keyword tool to develop search engine friendly content.
The site also needs to be fully integrated with Google maps to give customers the location of the training course.
