Wordpress theme template option for specific categories

I have purchased a theme at "[url removed, login to view]" that allows different templates for each page. There is already grid template for the home page that I love however it doesn't allow me to specify which categories are allowed on a page when using the masonry/grid template and which post ones are not. It simply places all post thumbnails on the page regardless of category. I need someone to create a method to somehow make it possible for me to use that same grid template on different pages but with only the post from the category that i specify.
