I have been unable to find anything close to what I'm looking for on the web, so I'm wondering how difficult it would be for someone here to make it.
I want an application (that will work on a Sony Erricson W600i for sure, and hopefully any other phone that supports Java and Infrared, but it MUST work on the W600i) for my cellphone that can have IR signals beamed to it and it can "learn" these signals (Basically I select a button on the phone screen and when selected you take a normal remote and aim it at the cellphone and press the same button, the IR signal is then recorded onto the cellphone from the regular remote, and saved to that remotes profile. The standard buttons (0-9, channel up/down, volume up/down, guide, exit, etc) could be added and easily recorded which would then allow you to use your cellphone as a Infrared Remote control. The closest thing I have yet seen was made for Palm Pockets/Pocket PC's called NoviiRemote (<[url removed, login to view]>) I want something simular (though not as advanced perhaps) for my cellphone.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. My phone supports the JAVA Platform, you may need to look up specifically what version(s) the phone supports, if it matters what provider you are with/etc.
I can give you the following information...
I have unlimited internet on the phone.
It supports the JAVA platform.
My service is through Cingular.
My phone has Infrared and Bluetooth.
My phone is a Sony Erricson W600i.
I would prefer Internet access be non-existant or very limited just in case I decide to cancel it later on down the road. I would prefer the app be as compatible as possible so in case I get a new phone supporting the same standards it could be installed there as well. However making it compatible with other phones is NOT REQUIRED.
