This project should be simple for someone that has done similar work before.
I have a database developed with MS Access. What I need is a program written in Java 1.4.2 that allows searching of any/all of the database fields, from a webpage.
The database and a demo webpage has been provided.
The returned search results can be a simple list of the restaurants or meals (depending on which button is pressed) that match the criteria (don't worry about making the returned result look too pretty): but it is important that all of the data is available to be shown if wanted. Using objects for each of the tables would seem like a logical choice.
Either cgi or servlet can be used, however it must be written in Java.
The server program will be initially located on a windows machine, however will most likely be used on a unix box, so file separators or any other OS specific attributes must be discovered by the program.
Neat - object oriented programming is a must, as well as good commenting, Javadocs and setup instructions, as another programmer will be modifying the code to make the final adjustments.
No internal classes are to be used, and only one class per file is permitted.
Please feel free to ask questions.
and happy coding
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable (class) form as well as complete source code of ALL classes used that aren't part of Suns SDK.
2) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
3) Each class must be commented using the /** javadoc convention explaining the attributes, elements and methods. Further comments throughout to allow a 3rd party to understand your coding.
4) Installation instructions on how to set up the webpage pointing to the server at localhost, as well as setting up the server program on Windows to accept incoming requests.
Initially the server program will be operating on Windows XP, however will at a later date will be operating on unix box.
