I have a signed applet which produces a result output for me. I want the ability to send this result (HTML, Picture file / whatever) via email from any client machine running the JVM, invoking the user’s default mail client. I need this to be able to support the following mail clients:
**Outlook XP, Outlook 2000**, Outlook Express 6, Netscape mail (mostly for unix ), Lotus Notes.
The following OS is to be supported:
Windows 2000 Pro, Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP, unix (Solaris 2.7 + , HP-UX 11, AIX 4.3 +).
Detailed specification and navigation:
The user could be running any of the O/S mentioned above, and then invoke IE or Netscape (OK, if you’re on unix, you would NOT invoke IE, only Netscape browser, but you could invoke Netscape or IE from Windows). The browser is pointed to the Tomcat server, where the application resides. A signed applet is then downloaded to run on the JVM, which produces output depending on the user’s input. One of the features is to be able to email this output in HTML or PNG format with the report image / HTML embedded into the mail, by a simple menu option in a similar fashion as to the ‘mailto’ functionality.
If you have done exactly something to this effect, please respond. If you have never done this before, please don’t respond as I don’t have the time for you to learn this. We are struggling to get the attachment to work for anything except Outlook 2000. There is obviously something we are overlooking, and cannot get this to work as required.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Liase with my Java developer to get this working on the development environment.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
JVM on Windows NT 4, windows 2000 Professional, windows 2000 Server, windows XP, Unix (Solaris 2.7 upwards, HP-UX 11, AIX 4.3 upwards). The OS is really immeaterial as long it supports the JDK1.2 plug-in in the browser.
