Project will to be create a Mass Email applet for salesforce that uses the functionality exposed to the API. This applet needs to have the following elements: 1. Execute from a separate tab 2. Have control panel settings in the "Setup" tab that allow access restriction by profile 3. Use HTML templates that pull in Salesforce fields from any object (standard or custom) 4. Email any type contact or lead from any object 5. Incorporate any field from any object (standard or custom) into the template 6. Apply advanced selection logic consistent with the Salesforce reporting functionality to filter the mass email list on any of the standard or custom objects (i.e. if there is a custom "Contact me via email now" field, the mass email could be filtered by this custom field to send only to contacts who are the primary contact on select types of leads who have been requested to be contacted 7. Allow automatic job triggering of mass emails (either via workflow rules or some other mechanism - for example, a notification letter could be automatically sent to all contacts on contracts that are expiring 60 days from today - the applet would allow the user to program an automatic batch send) 8. Bypass any limitations on max number of emails per user per day There are possibly some small enhancements to this spec that would be desired - I would expect that these would be follow-on pieces of work.
