Make an toolbar for Internet Explorer that warns the user if they go to a url that is a spoof website or a known fraudulent website.
Summary: Write a toolbar for Internet Explorer(and hopefully other browsers but mainly Firefox, IE6,7) that will check the address of every website that is opened and give a warning if the address matches certain conditions/keywords.
The toolbar also has simple links and a simple url type search box.
This is a security tool to help users avoid phishing or spoof websites.
The program should install like any normal toolbar(google toolbar for example).
When a website is loaded, it is checked against a list of tests and if a match is found, a message warning the user about that specific site is displayed. It will also test against a list of known bad websites.
This toolbar is intended to be distributed as a free download.
See the attached zip for the detailed specifications and example data file layout.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
This is a PC toolbar but I would like mac version if possible.
Any language is acceptable as long as it will work for a toolbar and will not require any special components, must be redistributable.
