I need a web-based tool that helps me specify software project in a structured way, use the specification to test the project systematically, summarize it and share the document.
I need this to manage a software project myself: the 2 owners need a place where the spec is always up-to-date and shared with a remote team of developers and testers. Perhaps others will find this useful as well.
I can import a Word document and convert it into a project and also export a project into a Word document.
It would run on a standard web server. Users can sign up for this service and create several projects. Several users can collaborate over the web on a project.
A project is simply a hierarchical tree of features. You define top down what the project should achieve. The lowest level contains all features; Each feature has a status; above levels aggregate the status into an overall picture.
If this works I am sure there will be additional work to add more time management, dependencies, integration with a bug tracking tool etc.
