We are having some problems of a hacker attacking our Joomla template file, and adding loads of spam links to the footer.

We have been told by our hosting company that this is caused by our Joomla version being out of date?

And apparently there is nothing wrong with the hosting? (I would like your feedback on this?)

So as they recommend, I would like a coder to stop these attacks to our site by upgrading it to the latest Joomla version. 1.5.17
