I currently use a very simple php tracker to redirect clicks from my email campaigns, but I need to enhance it's capabilities.. Basically, I need something more robust that will pass a variable into the redirect URL.
Up until now, I have simply redirected something like [url removed, login to view] to [url removed, login to view];b=d9czmcp4&p=2775&l=1
and my script will capture the email address of the user who clicked the link.
I have uploaded the current redirect code so you can see what it does.. there is no database required, it just writes to a flat file, which is fine for my purposes.
Now I need to be able to not only capture the userID, but also pass a string which includes the email address (or other variables) to the redirect URL so it can be pre-populated in a form within the landing page. There is a webpage with complete details about the process and the variables used here: [url removed, login to view]
I would also like to develop a more advanced tracking solution in the near future, but my immediate priority is the ability to redirect URL's as outlined above.. once this is done, we can discuss something more complex which uses mysql to store user login/tracking data and php/ajax to display results.
