Figure skating MUD

Hi guys, I've written up a more detailed description of what I'm looking for (see the "terms" in the deliverables section). Below is a description of the game's concept. Basically, I'm looking for a coder to help me with a technical skills system, and a character creation process. More detail on both these systems can be found in the attachment. In light of this update, I've also pushed back the Bid Deadline to 9/12. So please be sure to look over the attachment to be sure that this project is something you? would be interested in doing!? BASIC CONCEPT OF GAME Here is a run-down of the game’s concept, for the benefit of the coder. (This is not a description that will go into the game) In this game, players can role-play figure skaters, coaches, trainers, choreographers, and other inhabitants of the elite skating world! [// to start with, there will be only one “class?? (e.g. profession)??"figure skaters, singles division] As a singles skater, the player can train their skills by practicing at the ice rink and improve their physical condition (i.e. increase their attributes) by working out. When the player reaches a high enough level, he/she can enter competitions and compete with other players for money & fame (oooh!). Oh, not to mention love of the sport ;) Of course… figure skating is an expensive sport! Beyond their first taste of skating as a child on rental skates, aspiring skaters will have to work and earn money to pay for everything from skating equipment, to ice time, to valuable lessons from experienced coaches. There are a variety of jobs that players can choose from, and this constitutes a “sub-game?? of sorts (a game within a game!). For example, the player could be a waitress… or a cop… or, alternatively, a student in school (whose parents pay for everything ;). Once the player reaches a high enough level in skating, however, he/she will be able to earn prize money in competitions, or even earn appearance fees for performing exhibitions; so by then, he/she will be able to “skate full-time?? and give up the day job.? ? This is the ultimate goal of course??"a life of competition, performances, shows, and general acclaim as a famous Olympic Champion! It’s the dream of every aspiring skater. Be sure to work hard, and make your choices carefully! Will you be the next Michelle Kwan? Or, will you be the next Tonya Harding? ? ## Deliverables BASIC TERMS 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. PROJECT SPECIFIC TERMS The coder will be paid $________, for successful completion of the following: 1)? ? ? ? ? ? Setup? and compilation of agreed upon server/mudlib 2)? ? ? ? ? ? Coding of technical skills system (as described in attachment) 3)? ? ? ? ? ? Coding of character creation process (as described in attachment) 4)? ? ? ? ? ? Minor coding changes/edits requested by the buyer 5)? ? ? ? ? ? Lastly, all coding should be consistent with the game’s core concept If the coder prefers to be paid a lump sum per certain amount of time worked, I will list out a set of features to be completed for each week, and the coder can decide whether the task is feasible for the time given. Please read through the concept of the game, and the descriptions of the skills system, character creation process. I tried to be specific about what I wanted in the game??"but how those features become implemented is up to the coder’s creativity! ## Platform Depends on server and library used.
