I am in the process of launching a large scale free invisible counter service...Every script that I have tried both free and paid can't handle any large amount of traffic. I can get whatever hardware needed. The counter system needs to be able to scale to handle millions of hits a day. This can be spread over multiple servers or the same. Hardware cost is not really a issue.
I am not sure which language would be best suitable for this project...PHP, Perl, C+ or whatnot...
So I am open to all languages...
It needs to do all the basics of a free counter service such as signup, ranks, login, ect ect.
I think the project pretty much is self explanitory...
The problem is nothing I have found can handle the beating of mass traffic in one day.
