We need to develop software to create and restore snapshots in real time. The process should be small and light. Our targeted platform is a 600MHz Celeron-M with 256 MB system memory.
This snapshot software would be volume based and each snapshot should be stored in one file.
The shortest interval for creating each snapshot is daily.
Each snapshot will be taken from one or more of the server volumes.
These snapshots will be persisted on the disk for retrieval at a later time. We plan to keep 16 versions of the snapshots. There are two ways to remove an older version. One way is when the 17th version is created; the oldest version will be removed from the system. The second way is user's request.
We have our own distribution, and we will provide the GPL related source codes once accepted the bid.
The Linux kernel version is 2.6.13.
Besides to design and develop the project we expect from you a deep testing process and delivering the project without bugs.
The project should be written in C language.

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
