The minimum hard drive space needed for RedHat 7.2 is around 340MB. We need to have a small RedHat 7.2 image which is smaller. When bidding on this project, specify the size which you will commit to. We would like to have a minimum size RedHat 7.2 system that fits into a 64MB compactflash. We are not looking for floppy-based firewall/VPN image that does not meet the requirements below, so please do not offer any other solution. This project is to provide scripts and configuration files to remove unnecessary binaries and rpms after installing Linux from RedHat 7.2 CDs so the final distribution can fit onto a compactflash and boot. The deliverables are instructions and a tar file that lets us do the following: 1. Follow your instructions to install Linux from RedHat 7.2 CDs onto a hard drive 2. Unpack the tar file, which contains scripts and config files 3. Run a script or follow instructions to remove unnecessary files/packages 4. Run a script or follow instructions to create the compactflash (abbr. CF). 5. Boot linux from the CF after removing the real hard drive. At a minimum, this small RH72 must contain the following applications and have all necessary library to support them: iptables, openssh server, openssl library, tar, PERL, gzip, snmp server/client, php, telnetd, wu-ftpd basic network utility such as ping, netstat, route, nslookup basic file utilities such as ls, grep, vi, etc basic account facilities such as passwd, su, etc. The small RH72 image must be configured as follows: Ramdisk drive to use for specified directories (e.g. /var and /tmp) No writes to CF on boot CF drive with 2 partitions, one for boot and the other for data Requirements No outside binaries other than those in RedHat 7.2 Must not replace exisiting binaries on the standard RH 7.2. Deliverables: 1. Instructions to install minimum Linux from RedHat 7.2 CDs on a hard drive. 2. A shell script to remove all unnecessary packages/library. 3. Instruction to move (or copy) the linux from the hard drive to a 64/96MB compactflash
