This is a relatively simple FTP manager designed to handle the needs of a small outsourced dictation transcription service.
Here is a basic outline.
**PART 1 OF PROJECT (this bid).
i** Users upload 'wav' files to an FTP site using the FTP functionality of MSIE 6 They actually have a link to a frame that we will call the UPLOAD FRAME that has a local window on the left, and FTP window on the right and a help window at the top.
**ii** Up to 127 separate users (expandable in later versions) are allowed with their private directories. As files are uploaded they appear on a central control panel (see attached and dummy panel).
**iii** A single click moves them so that they are available in a separate FTP area for one of 127 typists (expandable) to download in the same way as the UPLOAD FRAME .
**iv** The typist is automatically emailed to tell him/her that the work is available. When he/she is finished he/she will have a word document that she drags back in the same way using the DOWNLOAD FRAME.
**v** This is flagged on the server as ready and can be checked before being moved back to the 'Users' ftp area and announced by an email. See the attached document and mockup to get a better idea.
our client has specified the following minor amendments since the original specification.
**vi** The option to automatically send files as they come in is no longer required.
**vii** File Size Counter - reads .wav and .dss file sizes and converts them with a single constant to time which is displayed under the document name (e.g. 1kbyte might be displayed as 1 min 20 sec)
**viii** The time of arrival is displayed under the date
**ix** The page is autorefreshed every 5 minutes
**x** Instead of having a submit button for each document there should be a checkbox and a sumbit for all documents to allow the user to multiselect.
**xi** The search filter for the view a subset of documents should be saved as a cookie so that the same filter applies on subsequent visits.
